During my travels in Singapore, I found that despite the small size of the country, you can always find a multitude of interesting things to do, depending on what you are into. Here are some of the fun and fabulous things you can certainly enjoy.
1. Take a nature walk along Gardens by the Bay.
Get inspired with how technology intertwines with nature as you explore the Supertree Grove and the largest temperature controlled green houses in the world, the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome.
2. Go shopping in Orchard Road.
You can literally shop until you drop as you will get tired exploring the countless large malls with various different local and international brands lined up in Orchard Road.
3. Enjoy a day in the beaches in Sentosa Island.
Singapore’s Sentosa island offers numerous attractions that will certainly keep you busy, but if you fancy a nice relaxing day at the beach, this is the place to be.
4. Visit Universal Studios Singapore.
Channel your inner child as you play games, get on rides and take photos with your favorite characters in Universal Studios.
5. Enjoy the night life at 1-Altitude Sky Bar.
Fantastic views, upbeat music, refreshing drinks and amazing people, what’s not to like?
6. Visit the Art Science Museum.
Apart from it’s unique structure, inside the building are interesting displays that will surely pique your curiosity and satiate your hunger for knowledge.
7. Ride the Singapore cable car or Singapore Flyer.
Feeling a little brave and adventurous? Enjoy the views of the city up high by taking a trip to Sentosa Island through the cable cars or by riding the Singapore Flyer.
8. Stroll along Chinatown and Little India.
Enjoy local cuisine and look through trinkets that represent the culture of the locals by strolling through Little India and Chinatown.
9. Shop for electronics — at really good price.
Singapore is not only known for shopping for fashion finds but also for cheaper electronics. Try going to Funan and Sim Lim Square to look for the gadgets that you want at a more affordable price. Plus, foreigners get to refund a percentage of the tax paid on what you buy.
10. Enjoy some delicious drinks in Clark Quay.
Have a nice evening drink in one of the many bars along Clark Quay while looking out at the view of the river or enjoy dancing to the upbeat music in one of the many clubs in the area.
11. Learn about the birds in Jurong Bird Park.
Jurong Bird Park showcases hundreds of bird species that you can interact with. You can also learn about the sustainability efforts of the region to help endangered birds.
12. Taste the aromatic coffee and mouthwatering cakes at Arab Street.
Support local small business owners by eating in any of the cozy restaurants and quaint cafés along Arab Street.
13. See wild animals at Night Safari.
Singapore’s Night Safari houses over 2500 animals in its 35-hectare forest. You can ride around and adore the animals while also supporting the efforts to help the species that are nearing extinction.
14. Walk along the helix bridge from the Marina Bay to the Flyer
Take a stroll in the Helix bridge and see most of the marvelous architecture Singapore is proud of.
15. Visit the Merlion Park and take some pictures.
Take some photos with the iconic half fish, half lion statue that shoots water from its mouth, the very symbol that represents Singapore. The fish part represents the country’s roots as a fishing village, while the lion half represents the meaning of “Singapura” which means “The Lion City” in Malay.
