Top 7 Instagram-Worthy Places in Singapore (Part 1)

Updated: Aug 16, 2019

A fusion of modern skyscrapers and traditional culture, Singapore is home to a diverse range of people including a significant percentage of foreigners from all over the world who remain as permanent residents of the small city-state. But don’t let Singapore’s relatively small size fool you, it is teeming with picturesque landscapes and attractions that will not only satisfy your eyes but will also instantly bring life and color to your Instagram feed. Here are some of the places in Singapore that are so awe-inspiring that I just had to snap some photos.

1. Gardens by the Bay

Any local would tell you that the Gardens by the Bay should definitely be on your list when visiting Singapore. Who doesn’t recognize the iconic Supertree Grove right in the middle of the Gardens by the Bay? These giant man made trees light up during the night and it is a sight to behold, or capture in photos. It’s also as majestic during the day.

The other parts of this 250 acre garden are also Instagram-worthy. The long walk from the waterfront promenade to the East or South bays will leave you feeling peaceful and close to nature with the scenic views, towering trees, lovely flowers and some relaxing water cascades.

This place is also home to the two largest glass greenhouses in the world: the flower dome and the cloud forest. The two conservatories are both equally as breath-taking and will surely provide you with the brightly colored Instagram feed.

2. Singapore Flyer

What better way to marvel at Singapore’s skyline than to ride this 165-meter tall Ferris wheel located right in the heart of the city? The tallest one in the world outside the United States, The Flyer gives you 360 degree views of the marina overlooking the sea and the skyscrapers of the city center, perfect for watching Singapore’s stunning sunset. The ride lasts for 30 minutes so you have plenty of time to snap those mesmerizing landscape and horizon photos and capture the cityscape right when the soft light hits it.

3.. Marina Bay Sands

Singapore skyline would not be complete without Marina Bay Sand’s unique architecture gracing the horizon. Even if you are not staying in the luxurious hotel, you can always snap Instagram-worthy shots that capture the three-tower structure connected at the top by a large roof terrace in the background.

If you are staying in the resort hotel, the view from the rooftop infinity pool at the 57th floor is absolutely breathtaking! The building boasts of the world’s longest elevated swimming pool. Located at 200 meters above the ground with the whole rooftop resort measuring one hectare, this is definitely the place to be if you want to capture some Instagram-worthy shots. Just simply lounging by the pool whilst overlooking the gorgeous cityscape is enough to make you fall in love with the city. Be wary though, this place gets a lot of tourists, so if you are going there for photo opportunities, it may be best to go up there early in the morning to get the perfect shot without a lot of people in the background.

The place is large enough to give you enough room, even on their busiest days, to lounge around and marvel at the view while enjoying some food or cocktails. Try spending the evening up there while looking at the city lights, a very relaxing experience that will make you feel on top of the world.

These are just 3 of the 7 awe-inspiring, Instagram-worthy places in Singapore. Stay tuned to the part 2 of this blog as I complete the my top favorite spots in The Lion City.
